The IT Support Technician provides first line support to Fast + Epp employees. This role includes handling support tickets, service requests, creating documentation and knowledge base articles, and working closely with the IT Administrator. No two days are ever the same!  You’re an ideal candidate if you have fantastic customer service, problem solving, and communication skills, and experience working as part of a technical helpdesk team.

This is an in-office, 5 days a week role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience working as a Helpdesk Technician
  • Certificate/Diploma in IT related area of study is an asset
  • A passion for technology and solving technical issues
  • Experience with installation, maintenance and upgrade of hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Ability to communicate courteously and professionally with employees in person, on the phone, and via email
  • Helpful if you have experience with engineering software, license management, and Meraki firewalls

 

DUTIES

  • Monitor, triage, and respond quickly to incoming IT issues and requests
  • Ensure all requests are logged and tracked in ticket management system
  • Provide technical support over the phone, in person, and via remote support apps
  • Build and deploy new client desktops and laptops in-house and remotely
  • Facilitate onboarding sessions with new employees
  • Provide support for meeting room equipment
  • Help maintain and update the companies IT asset list for hardware and software
  • Write knowledge base articles and guides for employee service desk portal
  • Keep system documentation current
  • Build and adjust automations and workflows to improve ticket management system
  • Work with third-party support for warranty or software-related requests
  • Monitor the Remote Management & Monitoring (RMM) suite for alerts or alarms that require troubleshooting
  • Assist IT Administrator with planning, implementation, maintenance, and documentation related to network infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain IT support related documentation including user help documentation, troubleshooting processes and installation instructions
  • Provide coverage for IT Administrator
